Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie cracked the case of the missing undersea town and #1 on the English Films List, with the film, produced by Nickelodeon Animation, racking up 13.4M views. The adaptation of Holly Jackson’s best-selling series, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, starring Wednesday’s Emma Myers, solved the mysterious death of Andie Bell and took #1 on the English TV List with 8.4M views. Meanwhile, the students of the eighth and final season of Elite (Spain) uncovered the identity of the secret society, Alumni, and landed at #1 on the Non-English TV List with 1.9M views.
The highly anticipated fourth and final season of The Umbrella Academy, based on the beloved Dark Horse comic book series and starring our favorite dysfunctional family, returned to claim the #2 spot on the English TV List with 8.4M views. The Hargreeves siblings celebrated the end of an era with music that rocks in any timeline. And moving up to #6 on the English TV List was Joe Rogan’s latest stand-up special Joe Rogan: Burn the Boats, which premiered live on Netflix last Saturday, with 2.9M views this week.
The Olympics may be over, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still be part of the gold-medal level fandom. In addition to securing four medals, the GOAT’s Simone Biles Rising held #3 with 3.7M views on the English TV List. And the triathletes weren’t the only ones in the Seine as shark thriller Under Paris was seen snapping up another week on the Non-English Films list at #8 (1.6M views). Did you miss the closing ceremonies? Catch up with the honorary Olympian – Tom Cruise – in Jack Reacher: Never Go Back and Jack Reacher which skydived into #4 and #8 for a total of 11M views this week. And don’t worry – the Olympics storytelling will continue later this year with more from Biles, Noah Lyles and Sha’Carri Richardson and the US Men’s gold medal winning Basketball team.
Love is Blind, the world’s most popular dating show, has driven millions of hours of viewing since it was initially released in 2020. And the franchise continues to not only rank in Netflix’s Global Top 10, but has also expanded to other countries like Brazil, Japan, Sweden and now the UK and Mexico. Kicking off its inaugural season, Love is Blind: UK entered the English TV List at #4 (3.6M views) while its counterpart Love is Blind: Mexico on the Non-English TV List moved up the list to claim #7 (1.2M views). Families enjoying the last days before back to school helped to drive animated titles into the Top 10. Ferdinand, The Bad Guys, Trolls Band Together and PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie along with preschool series, Gabby’s Dollhouse, were all popular this past week.
Moving on up to claim the #2 spot on the Non-English TV List was the Korean limited series Miss Night and Day with 1.5M views. Debut dramas took three spots on the list this week including The Influencer (Korea) in fourth (1.3M views), Shahmaran (Turkey) in fifth (1.2M views), Romance in the House (Korea) in sixth (1.2M views) alongside returning anime series Rising Impact (Japan) in ninth (1.1M views).
Debuting atop the Non-English Films List this week was Korean action-comedy Mission: Cross with 4.5M views. Chilling thriller Borderless Fog (Indonesia) climbed to #2 with 4.1M views. List debuts included romantic thriller Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba (India) at #3 (3.7M views) and emotional drama Lolo and the Kid (Philippines) at #4 (3.5M views). Comedy thriller Non-Negotiable (Mexico) returned for another week at #9 (1.5M views).
